Hello everyone! My how time has flown by. I look forward to seeing everyone at the reunion and reminiscing of the past and discovering where life has taken each of us to present day. I am so excited to get reacquainted with my former classmates. This is going to be a really special time with many memories from the past to the present and beyond. See you there! :)
PATTY SMITH'S BIOGRAPHY:
Patricia "Patty" Gillispie Smith, graduated in 1978 from Independence High School. She married 1977 IHS Grad Alan D. Smith in 1983. Alan and Patty have a son, Zachary Alan, born December 18, 1990. Zach currently attends the University of Charleston here in West Virginia. Patty is currently single and chose the profession of teacher in our local Raleigh County School District. Graduating from Concord College in 1983 with a certification of K thru 8, Patty taught her classes while continuing her education with a Masters in Communication Degree from WVU in 1988 . Patty has taught for 26 years and is very passionate about her teaching career, currently teaching 2nd grade at Cranberry-Prosperity Elementary School. She has lived in Beckley, WV for the past 26 years and her hobbies include; getting together with family and friends and talking politics - reading - and experiencing new travel sites and foods. Ms. Patricia G. (Gillispie) Smith's goals are to have grandchildren, remain healthy, and travel the world. Patty passed away January 27, 2017.
